Description	:	Son of Ira and Eleanor (Hackleman) Burr. Originally buried in Hanna Cemetery; re-interred in Falls Cemetery in 1906. FIRST: Enlisted as a Private on 23 April 1861 in Company K, 8th Infantry Regiment Indiana on 23 Apr 1861. Mustered Out Company K, 8th Infantry Regiment Indiana on 6 Aug 1861 at Indianapolis, IN. SECOND: Enlisted as a Sergeant on 12 September 1861 in Company F, 2nd Cavalry Regiment Indiana Taken sick and furloughed home, died 3 July 1862 at Terre Haute en route. Body returned to Wabash. [From Wabash County History, pub. 1884, pg 209-B] Francis M. Burr, son of the late Ira Burr, was a private in Company K, Eighth Indiana Regiment, in the three months' service. After the expiration of his term of enlistment he re-enlisted in Company F, Second Indiana Cavalry, and was mustered into service as Sergeant. After being on active duty for several months, he was taken sick and furloughed home; came as far as Terre Haute, Ind., and died there. His body was returned to Wabash, and interred with military honors in the old cemetery.
