Corporal George R. Boustead, of Woodbine,Iowa and Private Thomas J.Grey of Ruchilda,Canada and Private Nick Custiauss of Greenville,Pa., raided a machine gun heat, after all the others of their squad had been disabled, capture twelve Prussians and four guns. One prisoner drew a revolver and tried to shoot Boustead. He did not continue his march onward. Corp. Boustead is the son of Mr.and Mrs. "Bob" Boustead and comes from a fighting stock. If you don't believe, just go out in the Boustead neighborhood and shout, "Hock the Kaiser". George was one of the very first boys to enlist at the patriotic meeting held in Woodbine right after the United States entered the war. He is no boy either, as he is close to 40 years of age and his hair is quite grey, but little things like that does not interfere when he takes after the Huns. Ofcourse Woodbine people are proud of Corp. Boustead's achievements in the great war. We are proud of all the boys and they will all do as well when their opportunity is given. Pg. 65 BOUSTEAD, GEORGE R. Corporal Company M, 168th Infantry. Corpl. Boustead distinguished himself northeast of Chateau-Thierry, France, on July 28, 1918, when , as the leader of a squad of four men, he raided an enemy machine-gun nest held by twelve Germans.
