Jacob Saur, 52, passed away in the Forsyth Hospital on Sunday afternoon due to cancer.
Jacob was born Jan. 24, 1911, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Saur in Hutthurgstall, U.S.S.R. and came with his parents to the United States in 1911.
Jacob's parents moved from North Dakota to Rosebud County in 1914 to homestead.
Jacob has lived in the county for 49 years except for a four-year tour of duty with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Jacob Saur, 52, passed away in the Forsyth Hospital on Sunday afternoon due to cancer.
Jacob was born Jan. 24, 1911, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Saur in Hutthurgstall, U.S.S.R. and came with his parents to the United States in 1911.

Jacob worked as a farmer near Vananda. Jacob and married the former Miss Norma Seader in Billings.
Survivors include his widow, and seven children of the family home:
Daughters: Doretta, Cheryl, Lana, Diane, Susan, Sons: Jacob and Dennis; his mother, Mrs. Rosina Saur, Billings;
Three sisters: Mrs. Rose Martinek of Billings, Mrs. Bill Schlecht, of Billings, and Mrs. Harry Klein of Auburn, Wash.; one brother, Fred Saur Jr. of Anaconda Montana
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Concordia Luheran Church, Forsyth, with the Rev. Leo Tormoehlen, Pastor, officiating. |
