Description	:	Franklin, NC - Joseph "Joe" Thad Hodgin, 95, of Franklin passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Charles "Rush" and Alice Drake Hodgin. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army where he served 3 1/2 years in the South Pacific. He was a timberman, farmer and retired employee of Burlington Industries and was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and Gillespie Chapel United Methodist Church for 67 years. Mr. Hodgin is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Guffie Hodgin; two daughters, Sue Deal and husband Jim and Sharon Bryson and husband Tony all of Franklin; two sons, Jerry Hodgin and wife Darlene and Jack Hodgin and wife June all of Franklin; a sister, Genevie Cruse of Franklin; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Dehart; two brothers, William Hodgin and C. M. Hodgin; a great grandchild, Lyla Maxon and three nephews, Donald Hodgin, Ronnie Hodgin and Gene Hodgin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Susan German and Rev. Don Moffitt officiating.
