KEITH was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on December 4, 1937 to Alva and Neva {CALDWELL} SCHULTZ. KEITH graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1956 and attended William Penn College. In 1958 KEITH moved to Boise, Idaho and was employed at Provident Federal Savings and Loan Association. In May 1960 KEITH married JUNELLA MEINDERS in Oskaloosa, Iowa and they resided in Boise, Idaho, until he was inducted into the military service in November 1960. ========================================== __ KEITH and JUNELLA had three children: Mark (Barbara) SCHULTZ, Pleasant Hill, IA; Michael (Nancy) SCHULTZ, Omaha, NE; Natalie (Terry) YOUNG, of Des Moines, IA. __ KEITH was the proud grandfather of: Benjamin, Brandon, Brenna, Corinn, Gale, Jared, Justin, Kaci and Lindsey. _______ + _ + _ + _______ KEITH was preceded in death by his parents: Alva and Neva {CALDWELL} SCHULTZ. =========================================== KEITH and his family lived in many locations during his military career, making their home in Taipei, Taiwan and twice in Munich, Germany as well as many spots in the United States. SERGEANT MAJOR SCHULTZ served in VIETNAM, where he was awarded the BRONZE STAR Medal for action in the 25th Infantry Division. SERGEANT MAJOR KEITH EARL SCHULTZ retired from active military service after his second tour in Washington, D.C. in 1982 after 22 years of service. He achieved rank of Sergeant Major. In his retirement, KEITH was Sales Director for Holiday Inns in Des Moines, Iowa, and Director of Development at AIB College of Business. Upon retirement from AIB KEITH was designated an Emeritus of the college. He was past director of the South Des Moines Chamber of Commerce and a member of the board of the Creative Center for Young Children as well as on the Board of Directors of the Des Moines Area Religious Council Food Pantries. He was a past president of the Executive Forum business club, and South Des Moines Kiwanis. KEITH was a member of First United Methodist Church of Des Moines serving on the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee and was a Red Cross volunteer. KEITH and JUNELLA enjoyed traveling and spending time at their second home in Idaho. KEITH will lovingly be remembered as a gift of GOD, a devoted husband, wonderful father, and a loving grandfather. VISITATION~ will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, February, 22 at the Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th in Des Moines, Iowa. SERVICES~ will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 23 at First United Methodist Church, 1001 Pleasant Street in Des Moines, Iowa. BURIAL~ will follow services at the WHITE OAK {TOWNSHIP} CEMETERY, rural Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa, southeast of Oskaloosa, Iowa, at 2:30 p.m., February 23, 2011. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS~ may be directed to the First United Methodist Church or the American Red Cross, 1001 Pleasant Street, Des Moines, IA 50309, in loving memory of KEITH.
