Description	:	Staff Sergeant Morris Cain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Cain, of Centerville, Arkansas, was killed in action in Italy on March 1, 1944. He was born December 7, 1918, in Centerville and had lived there until is induction into the Armed Forces of the Nation. He was a young man of high character, honest, industrious and kindly, and always took a stand for what was just and right. Word of his death was received on March 25, 1944. Read More	Staff Sergeant Morris Cain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Cain, of Centerville, Arkansas, was killed in action in Italy on March 1, 1944. He was born December 7, 1918, in Centerville and had lived there until is induction into the Armed Forces of the Nation. Surviving besides his parents, are four brothers, Bryson; Harold Dixon and Macklyn Cain, of Centerville; and Joe Wayne Cain of the U.S. Navy, stationed at Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; and five sisters, Mrs. Reba Davenport, of Ola; Mrs. Modean Birkhead, of Paris; Mrs. Meredith Webb, Mrs. Hallie Davenport, and Mrs. Mary Lee Clark, of Centerville. Memorial Services were held at the Methodist Church in Centerville at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, April 2, 1944, by the Rev. E.W. Faulkner, of Dardanelle, and the Rev. Holiman, of Ola. Cain of Centerville, Arkansas, were dispatched from the Memphis, Tennessee General Depot today, Thursday 22, Lt. Col. Dan L. Miller, chief of the Memphis General Depot's American Graves Registration Division, announced. Escorted by an individual military escort, they will be delivered to the Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle, Arkansas. The estimated time of arrival in Dardanelle is 1:39 pm today (Thursday) July 22, 1948. S/Sgt. Cain, who served with the United States Army Ground Forces was returned from Nettuno Cemetery in Italy.
