He was born June 9, 1932 in East Fairfield, son of Nelson and Golda Marie Heston Lower Sr. He had lived in New Waterford for 38 years coming from Salem OH. He was born June 9, 1932 in East Fairfield, son of Nelson and Golda Marie Heston Lower Sr. He had lived in New Waterford for 38 years coming from Salem OH. He had been a Chief of Police and was an owner-operator driving for Egner Trucking and its successor, Coastal Tank Lines for 23 years. He was Methodist by Faith. He was a member of the East Palestine Lodge, F&AM #417 and the Teamsters. He served with the 34th Infantry Scout Dog Platoon during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Louise McGaffic whom he married November 20, 1954; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Lori) Souder of New Waterford; two sons, James (Heidi) Lower of New Waterford and Dale Scott Lower of Richmond, VA; a sister, Charlotte Booksing of Cochrane GA; a brother, Donald Lower of Guilford Lake; seven grandchildren, Mathew McBride, Daniel, Christie, Corey, Casey, Anna Marie Lower and James Lower, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, MacKenzie McBride, Ashley, Craig and Brent Lower. A son, Brian Lee Lower; a grandson Gregory McBride; five sisters, Mary Hall, Grace Hahn, Doris Hodge, Carol Marie Lower and Jeannette Green; and a brother, Frank Lower, preceded him in death. T he Rev. Kenneth Rambo will conduct a Memorial Service at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home. Friends may call 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
