Roger was born in Elk Point, South Dakota, on November 30, 1918, to Arthur and Laura (Perrault) Bosse. Read More	Roger Bosse, 93, of Elk Point, South Dakota, passed away at the Veteran's Home in Elk Point, South Dakota, on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Roger was born in Elk Point, South Dakota, on November 30, 1918, to Arthur and Laura (Perrault) Bosse. Roger was a proud Army veteran who served in the European theater during WWII, doing tours in England, Italy and Africa. He was a sergeant with the 301st Bomb Group and served from 1942-1945. Roger met the love of his life, Rachael Bernard, and they were married on October 2, 1950. They remained happily married until her passing in November of 2011. After leaving the service Roger worked as a farmer, raising livestock and crops on the family farm until his retirement in 1981. Even after retirement he always maintained a vibrant garden. In addition to gardening, Roger was an avid cook and baker. He was also known for his large pen collection, which numbered more than 20,000 pens. Roger is survived by his daughter, Mary (Joe) Doyle of Waverly, Iowa; his sons, Phil Bosse of Sioux Falls and Dave Bosse of Elk Point; his brother, Bernard Bosse of Elk Point; his sister, Sylvia (Jim) Bauerof Corona, CA; his grandchildren, Josh Atchison, Jordan Atchison, Kelly Doyle, and Lacey Doyle; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachael Bosse; his sister, Rena (Earl) Ryan; and his brother-in-law James Bauer. Visitation: at St. Peter's Catholic Church 400 Main Street Jefferson South Dakota 57038 Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., with a scripture reading beginning at 7:00, on Monday, July 16, 2012, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Jefferson, SD. Service: at St. Peter's Catholic Church 400 Main Street Jefferson South Dakota 57038 Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. David Roehrich officiating. There will be a military honors conducted by Elk Point V.F.W. Post 915 following the service on Tuesday.
