Born on Aug. 6, 1921, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late August Hugo Seiler and Anna Henrietta (Pfitzenmayer) Seiler. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Miss Anna Henrietta Seiler, Miss Selma Augusta Seiler, Marie Folk and Ruth Seiler. Mr. Seiler was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Born on Aug. 6, 1921, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late August Hugo Seiler and Anna Henrietta (Pfitzenmayer) Seiler. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Miss Anna Henrietta Seiler, Miss Selma Augusta Seiler, Marie Folk and Ruth Seiler. Mr. Seiler was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a life member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. in World War II. He was a charter member and past president of the LaVale Lions Club, Cumberland Outdoor Club, National Association of Federal Retirees, American Parkinson Foundation and local support group, Fort Cumberland Post 13 American Legion, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 2, East Gate Lodge 216 A.F. & A.M., Ali Ghan Shrine Club, Desert Legion of Ali Ghan, York Rite, Salem Chapter #18 R.A.M., Antioch Commandery #6 of Knights Templer. He attended H.R.D.C. Cumberland Day Care. He is survived by his wife, Mary Elaine (Beall) Seiler, LaVale; two daughters, Sharon Metz and husband Bruce, Frostburg, Marianna Boyer and husband Steve, Chesapeake, Va.; two sons, Robert Seiler, Norfolk, Va., Dr. George Seiler and wife Dr. Cynthia, Morgantown, W.Va.; ten grandchildren, Nicholas, Melanie and Brian Seiler, Douglas, Jackie and Billy Boyer, Sonja Metz Ebersole, Deanna Metz Pfister, Nathan and Amanda Metz; three great-grandchildren, Brendan and Braden Ebersole and Alana Pfister; and a nephew, Earl Folk and wife Pat, Cumberland. Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the LaVale Lions will conduct a service on Sunday at 8 p.m. Services will be conducted at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen F. Yelovich officiating. Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard. The family requests that memorials be made to the Parkinsons Support Group, c/o F & M Bank, 1040 Industrial Blvd., Cumberland or St. Luke's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
