The services for Sharon have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home Sharon was born on October 21, 1941 in Kimball, NE to John and Emma Sobon. She attended public schools in Kimball, graduating from High School in 1959. She was active in the school music programs and choir. While in High School she began her work experience as a waitress at a local drive-in during the summer months. She later worked as a sales clerk behind the candy counter at the dime store and then at a clothing store. Sharon attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln from 1959 until graduating in June 1963 with a BS degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation she settled in Denver, CO where she lived for almost 24 years. The first seven years she worked at the corporate offices of the Denver Chicago Trucking Company. When TIME Freight bought out DC Trucking they moved the operations to their Lubbock, Texas headquarters. Sharon did not want to leave the Denver area. She joined Curriculum Information Center (CIC), a research and publication company where she spent about 15 years before serving a stint at a mortgage banking company. In November 1986, Sharon moved to Phoenix, AZ where she worked for a major marketing research company in the computer graphics department producing desktop publications until retirement in April 2005. She traveled once a year to visit friends and family in Colorado and western Nebraska. Among her other travels, she very much cherished a business trip to Germany while with CIC and a cruise she took with a group of Nebraska alumni on the Volga River between St. Petersburg and Moscow. Sharon never married. She was preceded in death by her father John C Sobon and mother Emma L (Kapustka) Sobon. She is survived by her brother Lambert “Bert” Sobon of Angels Camp, CA, four nieces and a nephew.
