She was born in Charleston, WV on March 1, 1951, to the late Joseph Henry Winter, Jr. and Virginia Lee (Stewart) Winter. In addition to her parents, her brother, Ronald Winter, also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Independent Fellowship Church, Ravenswood and Little Sandy Homemakers Club. She was a 1970 graduate of Ravenswood High School and was a avid Ravenswood Red Devil Fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and at her church. She is survived by her son, Jason Ray Staats of Ripley; brothers, Richard David Winter and his wife, Sheril, of Sandyville and Michael L. Winter and his wife, Anita, of Belpre, Ohio; and grandchildren, Madison, Korey, and Logan Staats, all of Sandyville. Service will be 5 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Independent Fellowship Church, 713 Washington Street, Ravenswood, with Pastor Allen Stewart officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3—5 p.m. at the church. Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2016 at Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV. Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV is in charge of arrangements.
