Burial in Bethel Grove Cemetery. Sharon Olson was born on June 6, 1937, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Arden and Marion Olson. She graduated from Albion High School in 1955. On June 17, 1956, she married Leon Sommerlot at the Central Christian Church in Marshalltown. Sharon was a homemaker early in their marriage, staying home with their two sons Mike and Mark. She worked as a secretary for a short time at a local attorney's office before embarking on a long career as a secretary/bookkeeper for Bob's Feed and Supply in Marshalltown. She later worked at Tractor Supply Company in Marshalltown and also for the Times Republican newspaper before her retirement. Sharon loved to watch her birds and squirrels in the company of her beloved dog Sparky. Survivors include her children, Michael (Raelene) Sommerlot of Marshalltown and Mark (Rosemary) Sommerlot of Marshalltown; grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie) Sommerlot of Urbana, Iowa, and Melissa (Clint) Bitting of Chanhassen, Minnesota; and great-grandchildren Bennett, Cole, Finnegan, and Harper.
