Sharon died Friday, April 11, 2014, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska. Sharon (Overton) Greene, daughter of Floyd and Oneta (Garris) Overton, was born March 9, 1937, at Osceola, Iowa. Sharon attended Rocky Dell Elementary School and graduated from Osceola High School with the Class of 1956. After high school, she worked at a grocery store and then as a telephone operator for many years. On Dec 28, 1957, Sharon was married to Harland "Bud" Greene at Osceola, Iowa. Four children were born to them: Christine, Laurie, Linda, and Diane. Bud's job took the family to numerous states to live, but in 1974 they settled in Tilden, Nebraska, when they purchased a grocery store. They managed Bud's Thriftway Market for the next 25 years while raising their three daughters. In 1999, Sharon and Bud sold the store, but Sharon continued to work there for the new owners. She also was employed at the shoe store in Tilden as she loved working with the public. Sharon was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and was also a member of Altar Society for many years. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, and going to her children's and grandson's and in later years her great granddaughter's activities. Sharon is survived by her daughters, Christine Greene of Tilden, Nebraska, Laurie Ryan of Oakdale, Nebraska, and Diane Greene of Tilden; grandson, Randy Greene of Oakdale; great-granddaughter, Carleigh Greene of Oakdale; sister, Evelyn (Ron) Pollard of Chariton, Iowa; sister-in-law, Marla Overton of Union, Iowa; brothers-in-law, John Greene of Colorado, and Kermit Davis of Arizona; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Linda; her parents; husband, Bud Greene (on December 23, 2013); sister-in-law, Bonnie Davis; and brother Dale Overton.
