Description	:	Sharon Herout, 75, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Saturday, January 21, 2017, at her home in Columbus. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 25 at 11:00 AM at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Fr. Joe Miksch officiating. Private family interment will be in St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. She attended St. Bonaventure Grade School and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School. On October 26, 1960, Sharon was united in marriage to James Herout. She worked for 32.5 years at Becton Dickinson and after her retirement, worked seven year at Bobs Pharmacy. She loved to read, do word puzzles, collect Nebraska Husker memorabilia, watch Nebraska football, and going camping. She had a love for cats, was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary. Sharon is survived by: Son – James Herout of Grand Island, NE Daughter – Beth Korcek of Omaha, NE Daughter – Lisa Fowler of Lincoln, NE Son – Jeff (Kris) Herout of Duncan, NE Grandchildren – Bradley Korcek of Omaha, NE; Brittany (Logan) Kuch of Omaha, NE; Kay Dowson of Lincoln, NE; Kendra Dowson of Lincoln, NE; Scott Dowson of Lincoln, NE; Andrew (Kelli) Herout of Panama City Beach, FL; and Josh (Toni) Herout of Columbus, NE Great Grandchildren – Zoey and Elliott Kuch, and Emmitt, Walker and Aurora Herout Sharon was preceded in death by: Parents – Jerry and Rose Meyer Husband – Jim Herout
