Paul Hasn conducting the service. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of Mrs. J.H. Kent, Mrs. Iva Storm, H.S. Hamilton and Lloyd Burr, accompanied by Miss Nettie Lutz. Mrs. Douglas Abrams, Mrs. Alfred Lennabaugh and the Misses Marie and Helen Norris were in charge of the flowers. Interment was in the Lone Tree cemetery. The services were held in the Reformed church due to the fact that the Methodist church was in process of being re-decorated, and permission was given by the Consistory of the Reformed church for its use for the service. Glenn Sheldon Forbes, the son of Clarence and Sadie Forbes, was born March 28, 1904. He attended school at Lone Tree, graduating from High School with the class of 1922. On Feb. 14, 1925, he married Evelyn Briggs also a Lone Tree girl, but living at the time at Klickitat, Washington. To this happy union two children were born, Patty, age six, and Maynard, age four. Sheldon spent all of his life near Lone Tree, with the exception of a short time at Klickitat, Washington. Just two months ago the family returned to Klickitat and it was there that he was taken sick with typhoid fever. He was then moved to the hospital at The Dalles, Oregon, where he passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2:45 A.M., at the age of 30 years, 5 months and 22 days. He is survived by his wife and two children; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Forbes; three brothers, Lawrence and Happy of Lone Tree and Donald of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Reva Hutchinson, also of Cedar Rapids; and host of relatives and friends.
