Description	:	Sherebiah Lambert died at the home of daughter, Mrs. J. D. Kesling. He married in 1850 to Louisa Smith of Indiana. They moved, with others of their relatives and neighbors, to Benton County, Iowa in the fall of 1853. In the fall of 1855, while helping thresh, the top of a stack slipped off, throwing him into the cylinder of the threshing machine. In this accident one of his legs was town off just below the knee. Yet in this crippled condition he managed to support his family. There were born of this union... Read More	Sherebiah Lambert died at the home of daughter, Mrs. J. D. Kesling. He married in 1850 to Louisa Smith of Indiana. They moved, with others of their relatives and neighbors, to Benton County, Iowa in the fall of 1853. In the fall of 1855, while helping thresh, the top of a stack slipped off, throwing him into the cylinder of the threshing machine. In this accident one of his legs was town off just below the knee. Yet in this crippled condition he managed to support his family. There were born of this union five children, Mrs. J.D. Kesling, above mentioned, George S. of Saunders County, David A. of Custer County, Uel M. of Oregon, and one daughter who died in infancy. In 1860 his wife died, and in 1861 he married Catherine Ketterman and to them were born two children, William K. who died in Oregon in 1897, and Mrs. Della Oldaker, who resides in Portland, Oregon. In 1866 Mr. Lambert was again left a widower and one year later married Mary Whitecraft, who survives him. To them were born two children, one dying in infancy and the other in early childhood. In his early married life he and his wife became members of the Baptist church at Parker's Grove, Iowa and to this faith he has always adhered, but at times, on account of there being no church of this belief near him, he had membership in other churches, at the time of his death was a member of the U. B. church of Cedar township. Funeral Services were held at this church Friday, May 7, at 2 p.m. conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. B. Cunningham. The remains were laid at rest in the Oakdale Cemetery.
