Description	:	OAKLAND -- Sherman M. White, 79, of Eighth Street, died Friday at his residence. Born here Dec. 23, 1903, he was a son of the late Thomas White and Catherine (Shaffer) White. Mr. White was the retired owner of White's Garage in Oakland. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Oakland Council 1771, Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary S. White, 79, of Eighth Street, died Friday at his residence. Born here Dec. 23, 1903, he was a son of the late Thomas White and Catherine (Shaffer) White. Mr. White was the retired owner of White's Garage in Oakland. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Oakland Council 1771, Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary S. Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home Saturday from 7 to 9 .m. and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. by the Rev. Father Martin Field at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Internment will be in the Oakland Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held at the funeral home Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Southern Rescue Squad, P.O Box 256, Oakland, Md. 21550.
