Read More	Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," April 19, 1945: Dies At 80 On Farm Where He Was Born Sherman Parker, 80, a resident of Wapello county his entire life, died at his home on Ottumwa route 2 at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. He had been in failing health for the past year. He was the son of James A. And Pherryba Parker and was born April 7, 1865, on the farm where he spent his whole life. He was married to Susie Agnes George of Milan, Mo., November 28, 1906. His wife survives him. Also surviving are two sons, Harry Parker of Blakesburg and Harlan Parker, at home, and one daughter, Mrs. Alma Johnston, Ottumwa route 4. Seven grandchildren, Vivian, Delton, Carol, Lois, Louise and Wilma Parker and Ronald Sherman Johnston also survive, as do two sisters, Mrs. Albert Gosney and Mrs. Maime George, both of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents, four half-brothers, two half-sisters, eight brothers and three sisters. He was a member of the Russell chapel Christian church. Funeral services will be held at the Johnson funeral chapel at 2:30 p.m. Friday in charge of the Rev. E.L. Frost, pastor of the Davis Street Christian church. Burial will be made in Shaul cemetery.
