Description	:	Funeral services were held last Saturday at First English Lutheran Church in Lennox for Sherrill (Shari) Staatmeyer, who died at Sanford Centennial Hospice Cottage on Mar. 23, 2008. Officiating at the service was Rev. Hugh Brewer. Organist was Ardis Fischer and soloist, Kim Frerichs. Sherrill Ann Stymiest was born Jan. 7, 1940 at Lake Preston, SD the daughter of Glenn and Agnes (Gomsrud) Stymiest. Sherrill Ann Stymiest was born Jan. 7, 1940 at Lake Preston, SD the daughter of Glenn and Agnes (Gomsrud) Stymiest. She grew up and attended school in this area, graduating from Lake Preston High School in 1958. She graduated from Stewarts School of Hairstyling in Sioux Falls. On Oct. 16, 1959 Shari was united in marriage to Arvid Straatmeyer at Eastside Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls. They lived in the Lennox area their entire married life. She was a beautician and then sold beauty supplies. Later she was employed at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center. Her death ended a marriage of over 48 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Arvid; her three children and their spouses: Brent and Kim Straatmeyer of Lennox, Brenda and Gene Mayfield of Lennox and Randy and J.J. Straatyemer of Hurley; seven grandchildren: Whitney Seykora and her husband, Jeremy, Dereck "Bub" Straatmeyer, Colt, Brodie and Kiley Mayfield, Ashley and Nicole Straatmeyer; two brothers: Denton Stymiest of Lead, Darrell Stymiest of Sturgis; two sisters: Pat Hougland and her husband, Dihl, of Huron and Glenna Boyd of Oldham; special friend, Bonnie Mundhenke, Spearfish; plus several other relatives and friends.
