Services will be 10:00 AM CST, Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hazen, with Pastor T. Marcis Jr. officiating. Sherry will be laid to rest near her mother, Harriet Maas at the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Sherry was born March 20, 1963, at Hazen, a daughter of Melvin Maas and Harriet (Baier) Maas. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hazen. She was raised on a farm south of Hazen, and educated in Hazen graduating from Hazen High School in 1981. She attended Bismarck Stage College for a one year secretarial certification. She worked for Krause Super Valu in Hazen for several years. Then moved to Bismarck and worked for Dan’s Super Valu for a few years. She pursued additional education at Interstate Business College to be a Medical Assistant and was employed with the State of North Dakota up to her time of death. Sherry loved baking goodies for family, friends and co-workers. She cherished all her time with family and friends and looked forward to every overnight guest she had. She loved to cater to anybody that stopped by to visit or stay the night. Her wishes were granted in that she was determined to keep working despite her many health challenges. Sherry was a great aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her father, Melvin Maas, Killdeer Hilltop Home of Comfort Nursing Home; her sister, Robyn & Scott Miller and their children Samantha and Tryston of Beulah; and her brother Kelly & Steph Maas of Hazen, and their kids Jenna and Michael of Bismarck; one half-sister, Keri Ann Maas of Bismarck; her Aunt Ruth (Baier) Reitan of Bottineau. Ruth was one of her dearest and closest friends in which she talked to daily; and Ruth’s children Norman, Bottineau; Suzanne Reitan-Cosco, New Jersey; Norman Reitan, Bottineau, and Jessica Reitan-Buss, California. Uncle Harold & Laura Baier of Bismarck and their kids Shawn and Alex. Uncle Dallas & Monica (Loretta) Maas of Hazen and their kids Bobbie Ann Schramm, Arliss Maas and Dallas Jr. Maas; and Uncle Myron & Bonita Maas of Hazen and their kids, Tracy Wolter, Troy Maas and Timothy Maas; and all their extended families. A lot of special friends who are too numerous to name for the fear of missing somebody. A grateful thanks goes out to all whom were in her short life here on earth. She now has been reunited in Heaven with her mother who she dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her mother, Harriet (Baier) Maas and a stillborn sister, Melanie JoAnn Maas.
