The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19 at 2:00 PM, at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Columbus with Pastor Adam Lassen officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 12:30 PM until service time at the church. Shirley Ann Mueller was born October 20, 1930, in North Bend, Nebraska, to Fred and Hazel (Voss) Bauman. Shirley was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus. She was a member of the 1947 Kramer High School graduating class. After graduation, Shirley worked as a bookkeeper until she was united in marriage to LeRoy Mueller on April 23, 1951, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. To this union three children were born; Peggy, Nancy, and Bill. They farmed between Genoa and St. Edward until 1970, then moved to a farm in Howard County, and farmed there until their retirement in 1992 when they moved back to Columbus. Shirley was an active member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, a 4-H leader, avid bowler, delivered Meals-On-Wheels, served on the Colfax-Platte County Board of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans as Financial Director and Assistant Financial Director, enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and gardening. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. Shirley is survived by: Daughter – Peggy (Duane) Schneider of Burwell, NE Daughter – Nancy (Shawn) Harders of Cairo, NE 9 Grandchildren 12 Great Grandchildren Sister-in-law – Virginia Bauman of Ord, NE Brother-in-law – Kenneth Martensen of Ord, NE Shirley was preceded in death by: Parents – Fred and Hazel Bauman Husband – LeRoy Mueller Son – Bill Mueller Granddaughter – Kari Schneider Grandson-in-law – Shawn Dowse Daughter-in-law – Letha Brooks Sisters – Elaine Wolta and Mary Lou Martensen Brother – Doyle Bauman
