Burial will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Shirley was born on August 11, 1923, in Roland, IA, to Peter and Lizzie (Lein) Durby. She graduated in 1943 from Nevada High School and farmed in the Nevada area her whole life. On December 26, 1943 Shirley married Cecil Myers in Nevada. Shirley is survived by three daughters, Pamela (Bill) Howe, Sun City, AZ; Sherry (Larry) Bullock, Ames; Cindy (Larry) Meyers, Maxwell; and two sons, "Chub" (Chris) Myers and Tim (Diana) Myers, both of Nevada; seventeen grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on April 3, 2000, two sisters, one brother, and a great-granddaughter. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. again at Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th Street in Nevada. A memorial fund has been established in Shirley's name. Chet Ryan Mortuary has been entrusted with the care of Shirley and her family.
