Pastor Daniel Cronrath officiated. Shirley Jeske Frederick, the daughter of Charlie and Ruth Jeske, was born Nov 8, 1935 in Odessa. She was baptized in infancy and later confirmed in the Christian faith in Christ Lutheran Church. Shirley received her formal education in the Odessa Schools, graduating in 1954. After graduation she entered Kinman Business University in Spokane, graduating in 1955. She worked for a law firm in Spokane for six years. On Sept 22, 1956 she was married to Ronald Frederick at Christ Lutheran Church, Odessa. Three children were born to the union. Shirley and Ron lived in Spokane until 1970 at which time they moved back to Odessa. In Sept 1981, they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. For the past 3 ½ years, Shirley worked as a secretary to the superintendent at the Odessa School. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was active in music ministry, serving as one of her church’s organists and on the Music Committee. She was a person who gave of herself generously. She also enjoyed being a member of a musical group called ‘The Country Musicians’. Survivors include her husband, Ronald; two sons, Roger and Bradley; one daughter, Angela; her parents, Charlie and Ruth Jeske; one sister, Marge Haase, and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Special music for the service was provided by Donna Schafer accompanied by Sharon Eide at the organ. Strate Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.” (Odessa Record: 7-15-1982)
