Shirley was born on April 28, 1936, in Grand Island to Albert G. and Emma M. (Niedfelt) Moeller. Survivors are: husband, Kenneth Ziegelbein; children and their spouses, Lavern and Jean Marie Ziegelbein of Union, Jean Ann and Michael Hergenroeder of Sterling, Va., Patricia and Robert Fuller of Mesa, Ariz., Gale and Ralph Kerstens of Arlington, Texas, William Ziegelbein and fiance, Colleen, of Lincoln, and Karen and Bret Seipold of Hastings, Iowa; sisters and brother-in-law, Neva Brabender of Grand Island and Joyce and Don Dose of Hampton; brother and sister-in-law, Albert D. and Maureen Moeller of Grand Island; 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Shirley was baptized on April 11, 1937, and confirmed on April 2, 1950, at St. Paul's English Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Island. She attended rural District 23 Hall County School through the eighth grade and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1954. After graduation, Shirley worked for Grand Island Supply. On Oct. 21, 1956, Shirley A. Moeller and Kenneth W. Ziegelbein were united in marriage at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. They moved to their farm near Polk on March 1, 1957. Shirley was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker until returning to school to earn her LPN diploma from Central Community College on Oct. 8, 1987. Shirley worked at Hamilton Manor in Aurora for 10 years. Currently, Shirley was working as a Senior Companion through the Stromsburg Senior Center. Shirley was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church near Polk, where she was active in the Ladies Aide and sang in the choir. Shirley was involved in the Polk Senior Center and the Stromsburg Senior Center, the Merry Mothers Extension Club, and was a 4-H leader. Shirley enjoyed painting, ceramics and sewing. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister; sister-in-law, LaVerna Moeller; brothers-in-law, Charles Moss and Walter Brabender; nephews, Douglas Moeller, Jim Moss and Michael Dose; and niece, Marcia Moeller.
