Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Fiksdal Funeral Service. Interment will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery near Butler, SD. Luncheon will follow the service. Shirley Ann (Olson) Huwe was born on February 22, 1936, in Britton, South Dakota to Carl and Bertha (Storseth) Olson of Langford, South Dakota. Shirley was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Langford High School. Shirley was United in marriage to Burnell Huwe December 12th, 1954, in Britton, South Dakota. The couple made their home on the farm Southwest of Bristol, South Dakota and began their family. Shirley and Burnell moved to their present home in Butler South Dakota in 1982. Shirley was employed at Dakota, Inc. In Webster South Dakota for many years. Shirley enjoyed reading, sewing, watching TV, and listening to country music, especially Molly B. Shirley used her sewing skills to create gifts, patching and mending for family and many friends. Shirley was a loving, patient, and kind-hearted woman who treasured spending time with her large family. She was a devoted wife and mother of 7 children, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Shirley passed away October 17th, 2021, at the age of 85 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls South Dakota. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words missed beyond measure by her seven children Teresa (Greg) Schock of Rapid City, SD, Elaine (Jeff) Monson of Goodlettsville TN, Virginia "Gin" (Steve Rohde) Huwe of Rapid City, SD, Mavis (James III) Mckane of Andover, SD, Duane Huwe of Butler, SD, and Dennis (Gail) Huwe of Bristol, SD, seven grandchildren James IV (Ashley) Mckane of Andover, SD, Justin (Diana) Mckane of Brookings, SD, Miranda (Christopher) Huwe-Griffin of Maricopa, AZ, Devon (Kim) Huwe of Bristol, SD, Alannah Schock of Rapid City, SD, Taylor Huwe of Worthington, MN and Rylee Huwe of Bristol, SD and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Burnell Huwe, and son Darold and his wife Cindy Huwe, and her 12 siblings. - Fiksdal Funeral Home
