Description	:	Shirley Ann Perry Smith, age 78 of The Plains passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at her home. Born Aug. 20, 1935 in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur W. Perry and Anna Margaret Carsey-Coon. She was employed at Hickory Creek Nursing Center on The Plains in food service for 23 years. Shirley is survived by her children- Debbie Taylor of The Plains, Greg (Betty) Smith of Chauncey, Kimberly Smith, Brent (April) Smith, Charles (Amber Shreves) Smith, Mark (John Krol) Smith and Brian Smith all of The Plains; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three sisters- Barbara (Floyd) Riffle of New Marshfield, Lois (Richard) Phillips of Millfield and Patricia Bolin of Shade; three brothers- Gene (Shirley) Perry of New Marshfield, Joe Bolin and Michael Bolin both of The Plains. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles L. Smith in 2006; three grandchildren- Carrie, Amy and Brittany Smith; a brother, Richard Perry; and a sister Betty Dicken. Funeral service will be conducted Monday 1:00pm at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Buford Brown and Gary Alton officiating. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
