Shirley Ann Golter was born at home on Dec. 26, 1927 at Middle Branch to Clarence and Evelyn (Richardson) Faulhaber, was baptized and confirmed at St.Peter's in Orchard and passed away Feb. 14 at her home. She was 80 years old. Golter spent her youth at Middle Branch and Venus as her parents owned the Venus store. She went to school for six years at Middle Branch and two years at St. Mary's in O'Neill. She lived with her grandparents while attending high school in Orchard where she graduated. On April 10,1945, she married Arthur Golter and the couple shared 62 years together. They lived in Orchard and farmed and ranched. Anne enjoyed working with Art on the ranch because she cared so much for the cattle. Anne also enjoyed baking and gardening. In 1963 the couple moved to Osmond and bought the Golter's Grocery Store. In 1973 they moved back to Orchard. Golter was proceeded in death by her parents; her sister, Pat Herley of California and her brother, Richard Faulhaber, of Grants Pass, Ore. She is survived by her husband, 3 sons, a daughter, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. The Plainview News, Feb 20,2008.
