She was united in marriage to Walter Emil Pofahl and to this union three children were born: Deanna, Gary and Patricia. Shirley was then married to Carl Harms and together they owned and operated Carl's Place, Edgar, Nebraska for 15 years. Carl and Shirley moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1967 where Shirley held various jobs. Shirley was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She dearly enjoyed sewing and quilting when time allowed and found great joy in giving her creations away to family and friends. Shirley is preceded in death by: parents; husband, Carl Harms; siblings, Dean and Clark McLaughlin, Janis Buckles, and Sally Sheves and grandson David Bohling. Survivors are: children: Deanna Bohling and husband Bill of Green Valley, Arizona, Patricia Schrier and husband Jim of Lincoln, Nebraska and Gary Pofahl of Nelson, Nebraska; grandchildren: Laura Bohling, Kimberly Wright, Richelle Pechar and Travis Pofahl; brothers and sisters, Craig McLaughlin and Kathy, Gayle Lamb and Leonard, Bill McLaughlin and Ruth, Sharon Kenley and Linda Bruns and Donnie; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and a host of family and friends. Burial was in the Edgar Cemetery, Edgar, Nebraska.
