Description	:	Shirley Dalene Thompson passed away November 8, 2018 at Cheyenne Regional Hospital after having a massive heart attack. She was born in Hutchison, KS July 19, 1939, where she grew up on the family farm until the age of five. The family moved to Kansas City, Mo until 1949, when Boulder, CO became her home until the early 60’s. She moved back to Western Kansas where she met the love of her life. Read More	Shirley Dalene Thompson passed away November 8, 2018 at Cheyenne Regional Hospital after having a massive heart attack. She was born in Hutchison, KS July 19, 1939, where she grew up on the family farm until the age of five. The family moved to Kansas City, Mo until 1949, when Boulder, CO became her home until the early 60’s. She moved back to Western Kansas where she met the love of her life. Shirley and Donald Thompson were married in August of 1985. He succumbed to cancer after a year and a half. It was then she moved to Cheyenne, WY and has resided here for 33 years. Shirley was part of the Magic City Enterprises for many years. She was employed by Montgomery Wards, Country Buffett and Chick-Fill-A. She enjoyed the 19 years she was employed by Chick-Fil-A. She loved handing out chicken samples to the patrons at the mall and giving the toys and balloons to the children while they enjoyed their meal. Many of the parents told her they came to Chick-Fill-A for the kids to see Shirley and get the toys and balloons. This brought joy to her heart. Shirley enjoyed playing bingo, making puzzles and was very crafty. She enjoyed making things to give to friends and relatives. She liked making jewelry out of native Colorado and Wyoming gems. She was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Where she did what ever she could to help others. Her love of life, infectious smile and great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Milo C and Ethel G (Sinclair) Adams and her husband Donald Thompson. She is survived by her sisters Teressa Marie Affolter of Knoxville, TN, Margaret B. Olson, and a brother David J. (Alta L.) Roby both of Cheyenne, WY. She leaves behind nieces and nephew whom she loved dearly and was over joyed when they came to visit her at Life Care Center. Cremation has taken place by Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. A memorial service will be held in Syracuse, Kansas where she will be buried next to her husband in June of 2019. Those wishing may donate to American Heart Association or a charity of their choice.
