A third-generation Billings native, Shirley founded Fisher Construction with her husband of 53 years, Dan Fisher. Read More	Shirley Fisher passed away surrounded by her family, at home on April 8, 2015. A third-generation Billings native, Shirley founded Fisher Construction with her husband of 53 years, Dan Fisher. To Fisher Construction she brought not only her sense of perfection and rigorous attention to detail, but a deep concern for Fisher’s employees whom she thought of as friends and family. She was an elder and board member at First Christian Church where she loved singing in the choir. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends and never missed sending cards on birthdays and anniversaries even when that meant multiple trips to the post office in the deep of winter just to make sure the cards got there on the precise day. She welcomed into her home and heart many children in addition to her own and impressed upon them the importance of honesty, loyalty and creativity. She put her own creativity into her garden, piano and guitar playing, and exceptional sewing. An animal lover, she was never without at least one pet and was fond of saying “Dogs are people too!” Her vet used to say when he was reincarnated he wanted to come back as Shirley Fisher’s dog. She advocated for and donated generously to many causes that supported the welfare of animals. Finally, she was a daily reader of the Gazette obituaries, explaining that she had to check to see if her own name was there. Well Shirley, today is your day. We love you and miss you already! Shirley was born Feb. 10, 1936, to Sollie Strecker and Millie Heffner. She married Dan Fisher in 1953. She was widowed in 2006. Her memories and love will live on in the lives of her daughters Sallie Hunt (Otto Hunt), Susan Fisher Stevens (Mike Stevens), and Connie Fisher (Daniel LaFleche); her three grandchildren Joey Daner, Jesse Daner, and Danielle Fisher, her brother and sister-in-law Nelson and Ann Strecker, sister-in-law JoAnne Lindberg, nieces Karen Henderson, Terri Christianson, Julie Sullivan and nephews David Lindberg, Jim Lindberg, and Jon Lindberg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to Family Services, Inc. (famserv.com) or Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter (yvas.org). Memorial service will be Saturday April 11, at 1:30 p.m. at First Christian Church, 522 No. 29th St.
