She was born August 12, 1937, at Eckhart, MD, a daughter of the late Arthur and Virginia Grimm. She was retired from IBM in Manassas and was a former member of the Loudon County E.L.K.S. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and watching old westerns and classic programs on TV. She was a longtime fan of NASCAR and the Washington Redskins. She is survived by her children, Carl Minor, Connie Taylor and Shirley (Squeak) Anthony; grandchildren, Matthew Taylor, Jason Taylor, Hali Anthony, Laural Anthony and Carleigh Minor; stepchildren, Tammy Fuentes, Mark Kitzmiller and Steve Kitzmiller; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; brothers, Jim Grimm, Jerry Grimm and Walt Grimm; sisters, Kay Shannon, Judy Strawser, Linda Rager and Jackie Kelley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. (Bill) Kitzmiller; two infant children, Ernie, Jr. and Marsha; step-son, Ricky Kitzmiller; and sister, Dorena Moats. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at Browning Funeral Home, Kingwood, WV, with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Oakland, MD. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday. Flowers will be accepted and monetary contributions are preferred to Capital Caring Hospice Services, 24419 Millstream Drive, Aldie, VA 20105 “in memory of Shirley Jean Kitzmiller”. Donations can also be made online at www.capitalcaring.org
