Shirley was born January 9, 1934 to Vernon and Elizabeth (Seger) Keeney. Shirley graduated from Norfolk Senior High School in 1952. She married Paul Seevers on August 22, 1954 in Norfolk, Nebraska. They were blessed with three children, Kevin, Kurt, and Paula. Shirley obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Human Development and the Family from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska. Read More	Shirley Keeney Seevers, age 83, of Bennington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Shirley was born January 9, 1934 to Vernon and Elizabeth (Seger) Keeney. Shirley graduated from Norfolk Senior High School in 1952. She married Paul Seevers on August 22, 1954 in Norfolk, Nebraska. They were blessed with three children, Kevin, Kurt, and Paula. Shirley obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Human Development and the Family from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska. She then began a career of teaching early childhood education at UNL. Shirley always was working to improve children's education and methods for learning. She was an avid reader who always handed down a good book to her children. Shirley was a very gifted artist who enjoyed pottery, drawing, quilting, and painting. She would support talented local artists often purchasing their works for display at home. The family enjoyed many camping trips, fishing, hunting, and just being outdoors. Shirley is survived by: children, Kevin (Valerie) Seevers, Kurt (Ann Marie) Seevers, and Paula (Randy) Kehres; grandchildren, Jim, Jay, Emily, Kelly, Seth and Ian; great grandchildren, Sienna and Liam; and sister, Bonnie Peilte. She was preceded in death by: her parents; and husband, Paul. Memorial Services on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Home for Funerals in Norfolk. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.
