Description	:	GINGRICH, Shirley Joan Age 71, passed away on March 12,2006 at her Trenton home after a struggle with leukemia. She was born in Lima, Ohio, on January 21, 1935, the only child of Raymond and Jane Shelmadine, who preceded her in death. After getting her degree from Bluffton College, and attending Miami University and Indiana University, she devoted 35 years to children as a Teacher and Principal. Read More	GINGRICH, Shirley Joan Age 71, passed away on March 12,2006 at her Trenton home after a struggle with leukemia. She was born in Lima, Ohio, on January 21, 1935, the only child of Raymond and Jane Shelmadine, who preceded her in death. After getting her degree from Bluffton College, and attending Miami University and Indiana University, she devoted 35 years to children as a Teacher and Principal. After her retirement in 1994, she worked for GCA Services Group as a manager at both Miller Brewing Company and NCR. She leaves her husband of nearly fifty years, Larry C. Gingrich; and two children, Chad Jason Gingrich (wife Gina) of Trenton, and Darby Allison Cognion (husband Todd) of West Lafayette, Ohio. Very special to her heart are her five grandchildren - Jordan and Cole Cognion, Brian and Chad Downey, and Chase Gingrich. Also very dear was her sister-in-law, JoAnn Smith, who was her devoted and kind friend. She enjoyed making the world a better place and served as treasurer of the Friends of Chrisholm for 8 years, served on the Trenton Mennonite Church Council and numerous church committees, and was a member of NEA and OEA Retired, Ohio Retired Teachers, and a former member of the Business and Professional Women's group. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, Sutphin and Woodlawn, Middletown, with the Reverend Dennis Wagner and Reverend Glenn Martin officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday, and two hours prior to services Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trenton Mennonite Church, Box 19, Trenton, Ohio 45067, or to the Friends of Chrisholm, Box 234, Trenton, Ohio 45067. Burial will be at the Trenton Mennonite Cemetery on Wayne-Madison Road. A meal will be served at the church after the graveside services.
