Description	:	Shirley Lee Williams, formerly of Waverly, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 at Riverside, Calif. following a battle with cancer. She was 69. The daughter of Clyde and Mary Rickman, she was born April 1, 1937. She graduated from Waverly High School in 1955. She attended Clarks School of Business in Topeka in the fall of 1955 and earned a secretarial certificate. Mrs. Williams worked for Burgess and Associates, an engineering firm, until she married. The daughter of Clyde and Mary Rickman, she was born April 1, 1937. She graduated from Waverly High School in 1955. She attended Clarks School of Business in Topeka in the fall of 1955 and earned a secretarial certificate. Mrs. Williams worked for Burgess and Associates, an engineering firm, until she married. She married Jim Williams in June of 1957. They lived in Lawrence while Mr. Williams attended the University of Kansas. The couple moved 18 times during Mr. Williams' term in the U.S. Air Force. The couple has three children. Mrs. Williams worked for eight years as a church secretary, held several position in the Air Force Wife's Association, and sewed professionally for several years, making and donating more than 700 children's outfits to charity. She was also a member of Chapter CO of the PEO Sisterhood at Burlington. Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband; a brother Larry Rickman of Clinton, Mo.; three sisters Imogene Hess, Waverly, Wanda Thompson, Melvern, Vicki Sontag, Livingston, Texas; a daughter, Kelly Schell of Riverside, Calif.; two sons Michael Williams and Eric Williams both of Riverside, Calif., and eight grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006 at Waverly Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006 at the Waverly United Methodist Church in Waverly. Memorial contributions can be made to the Waverly United Methodist Church of the Waverly Cemetery Building Fund. Contributions can be sent to Jones Funeral Home, P.O.
