Description	:	Shirley Lorraine Behm, 92, of Missouri Valley died March 22, 2016, at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. Shirley was born April 12, 1923, in North Bend, Neb. to Frank and Christina (Reker) Kocour. The family moved to Modale in 1941 where Shirley attended school and graduated in 1942. Read More	Shirley Lorraine Behm, 92, of Missouri Valley died March 22, 2016, at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. Shirley was born April 12, 1923, in North Bend, Neb. to Frank and Christina (Reker) Kocour. The family moved to Modale in 1941 where Shirley attended school and graduated in 1942. In 1944 Shirley married the love of her life, Francis (Pete) Behm. To this union they had two daughters, Carole and Roberta. Shirley started working at Horton Nursing Home in Logan in 1961, then continued her work as a nurse aide at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley. In 1968 she began working at Wilkinson Manufacturing in Fort Calhoun, Neb. She went back to work at the hospital in Missouri Valley as a cook in 1975 where she stayed until retiring in 1992. She lived on the old farm in Old Calhoun where she loved tending her flower and vegetable gardens. In 2003 Shirley moved to Culivan Heights in Missouri Valley where she spent most of her time playing cards and Dominos with her many friends. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and holidays with them were very special to her. She also loved to go on shopping trips every chance she got. Shirley will always be remembered for her quick wit and her love for her family. Shirley was a member of the Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Missouri Valley. Shirley was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, husband Pete and great-granddaughter Starla Hember. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Carole (Ed) Gdowski of Missouri Valley and Roberta (Marlyn) Anderson of Mondamin; siblings Burdell Stirtz of Missouri Valley, Don (Sara) Kocour of Missouri Valley, Ken (Mary) Kocour of Ft. Dodge and Larry (Pat) Kocour of Missouri Valley; grandchildren Sheri Lash and special friend Harry Wines of Omaha, Neb., Don (Carisa) Powers of Omaha, Neb., Jason (Brandy) Mace of Missouri Valley, Kristi (Donavan) Frazier of Missouri Valley and Brenda Bostwick of Missouri Valley; and greatgrandchildren, Kelsey Stoneking, Garrett, Tanner and Claire Mace, Mason and Carter Strang, Kolbey, Kynzie and Kohen Powers, Skylar Fraizer, Zach and Jarodd Hember, Patrisha and Kevin (Skeeter) Bostwick. Many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
