Description	:	Morris Goodell (Shirley Maurice Goodell) was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Freda Suzy Goodell (Freda Tripp. 1891-1984. b. Mount Holly, Vermont). Morris' father was Harold Fred Goodell (1894-1968, b. Mount Holly, Vermont). He grew up in Middleboro, Massachusetts, raised primarily by his Grandmother, Ida Starr Goodell, but often visited his mother in Westport, MA and with the Tripp family, that built F. L. Tripp Boatyard (Now F. L. Tripp Marina in Westport). Morris' father was Harold Fred Goodell (1894-1968, b. Mount Holly, Vermont). He grew up in Middleboro, Massachusetts, raised primarily by his Grandmother, Ida Starr Goodell, but often visited his mother in Westport, MA and with the Tripp family, that built F. L. Tripp Boatyard (Now F. L. Tripp Marina in Westport). Morris attended the New Bedford (MA) Textile School and became a draftsman; moving to Connecticut where he met he wife Inez Gemma Monaco (Goodell-Reinhold). The settled first in Simsbury, CT, and then East Granby, CT where they raised three children (Sandra, Maurine and Barry). Morris worked for "Wiremold" and also Pratt and Whitney as a machinist and eventually working his way up to engineer in the 1950s. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed tools of all types, starting up Goodell Tool Rental from the basement of the family's East Granby home (on Mountain Road - now 206 Newgate Road). He also started the Goodell Bicycle Shop in the basement of the family home in East Granby, which became successful enough that he secured a storefront shop in Simsbury for expansion of this business. Unfortunately, lung cancer struck him down at an early age (he smoked a pipe as a young man, but possibly friend describe his childhood home in Middleboro as one that was always very smoky from a coal or wood stove), and he was not able to advance his plans for the business. He left young family with many fond memories of their short time with him.
