Born in South Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Earl Bryant and Estelle Boone Bryant. She was predeceased by her first husband, Sidney Lee Holloman, Sr. and her brothers, William E. "Bud" Bryant, Jr. and Keith Wayne Bryant. Shirley worked for Bank of America as a teller for 42 years. Read More	CHESAPEAKE - Shirley May [Bryant] Holloman Jewell, 83, of Chesapeake, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Thursday, December 20, 2015. Born in South Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Earl Bryant and Estelle Boone Bryant. She was predeceased by her first husband, Sidney Lee Holloman, Sr. and her brothers, William E. "Bud" Bryant, Jr. and Keith Wayne Bryant. Shirley worked for Bank of America as a teller for 42 years. She was an active member of Great Bridge Baptist Church, where she was a member of the JOY Sunday School Class, as well as various other ministries. She was active in the community and participated in many volunteer organizations. She was a member of the Monday morning Senior Bowling league at AMF Lanes, Chesapeake. She loved to spend time with her family, traveling, camping and playing games. An accomplished artist, she was proficient at painting and enjoyed giving her art away [also made many lovely porcelain dolls]. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Survivors include her husband and best friend of the past 12 years, George L. Jewell, whm she affectionately called "Honey"; her children, Sherry Schucker (husband Jim), Sidney Lee Holloman, Jr. (wife Donna), Sondra Holloman Cooke, and Skye Holloman; step-daughters, Debbie Dow (husband Bob), Donna White and Teresa Black (husband Steve); 6 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted Monday, December 14, 2015 at Great Bridge Baptist Church. Dr. Will Langford will officiate. Interment will follow in Chesapeake memorial Gardens.
