Shirley Yvonne Roach, daughter of Alfred and Helga (Hegvick) Holm, was born August 16, 1934, in Valley City. She graduated from Fort Ransom High School in 1952. She married David Roach on November 25, 1954, in Lisbon. Shirley worked at Dahlgren Birdseed Plant from 1974 until it closed. She worked at Community Memorial Nursing Home as a CNA from 1975-1977. She worked at Island Park Motel until retiring in 1996. She is survived by her husband, David Roach, Lisbon; a son, Micheal (Bea) Roach, Lisbon; two daughters, Leona (Mark) Osier, Springfield, MO, and Susan (Marvin) Swanson, Lisbon; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis (Florence) Holm, Wolsey, S.D., and DuWayne (Phyllis) Holm, Camp Verde, AZ; and two sisters, Sharon (Harvey) Haarsanger, Litchville, and Joanne Lien, West Fargo. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sheila Boroszuk. Pallbearers for the funeral were Dan Roach, Gerry Roach, Preston Roach, Eric Lien, Jasper Bjugstad, Darin Boroszuk, Jerry Holm, and Darrin Roach. Music was provided by organist Genell Carlson and soloist Sylvia Holmstom. Interment at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Lisbon. Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon, was in charge of arrangements.
