From the Bennington Evening Banner October 30, 1956 SIDNEY TURNER Funeral services for Sidney Turner of Moretown, Vt., were held at the Methodist Church in Moretown Oct 18 with the Rev. Mabel Wheaton officiating, assisted by Mrs. Florence Ward at the organ. The Masonic Order and Mad River Valley Grange were represented by delegations. Mr. Turner, who has relatives here was well known in Bennington. He married the former Margaret E. McLenithan of Bennington 1928 and they had four children, Billy died in 1936 at the age of six years; Beverly is married to Robert Benn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Benn and Bruce, all of whom live in Carmel, Calif., Brenda died in 1937 at the age of five (* actually 6 days). Mrs. Turner died in 1937 at that time. The pallbearers were Merlin Ward, Albert Ferris, William Kinesbury, Merrill Griffith, Otto Bates and Homer Niles. Burial was in the family lot in South Duxbury Cemetery. Those from away attending the services were Mr. Turner's son, Bruce, from Pacific Grove Calif; Beverly, daughter of Mr. Turner was unable to attend due to sickness in the family. Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Benn of Fair Haven, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. George McLenithan of Pownal; Mrs. Harley Barber of Shaftsbury;, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Fors, Mrs. Ethel Wales, Theodore Atkins, all of Barre; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Battles, Miss Lilla Morse and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Towne of Waterbury.
