Description	:	Sidney Burr Cotton, 94, passed away Wednesday, April 16 at Beatrice Hover Assisted Living Residence in Longmont, Colorado. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 26, in the All Faiths Chapel at Beatrice Hover. Sidney was born on July 15, 1919, in Pipestone, Minnesota, the son of Burr and Pearl Cotton. He graduated from Logan High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin in 1938. On February 20, 1940, he married Irene Lund. He received a Good Conduct Medal and a European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal. For many years, he was employed as a Quality Control Manager for Marshalltown Manufacturing in Marshalltown, Iowa. On July 3, 1963, he married Maxine Irvine in Marshalltown. In 1978, he and Maxine moved to Oshkosh, Nebraska, where he retired. Sidney loved to go fishing in his boat, garden, and play golf. He was an avid sports fan. Sidney loved to sing and play his Clavinova. In Marshalltown, he sang in the Marshalltown Men's Chorus and in the First United Methodist Church Choir. While living in Oshkosh, he also sang in the church choir and was a member of the Country Gents, a quartet which performed at events in and around Oshkosh. Sidney is survived by his children, Gary Cotton of Escondido, California and Barbara Cotton of Longmont, Colorado; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald Cotton of Titusville, Florida.
