Cohen, 80, of 120 Lordwith Lane, owner of the Montana Sales Co., a vending and amusements machines firm, died Monday at Deaconess Hospital. Mr. Cohen was born Dec. 7, 1895 in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. Cohen. A graduate of North High School in Minneapolis, he served as Pharmacist's Mate First Class in the U.S. Navy during World War I. He later traveled with his brother as a sales representative for a clothing manufacturer before opening his own men's clothing store in Glendive in 1926. He married Lillian Williams on May 29, 1929, in Billings. In 1934 they moved from Glendive to Billings, where Mr. Cohen founded the vending machine firm in which he was active until his death. His wife died in 1965. Mr. Cohen married Helen Barber on Aug. 9. 1973, in Cody, Wyo. He was a member of the Beth Aaron Synagogue, Masonic Lodge No. 113, Blue Lodge, Al Bedoo Shrine, Black Horse Patrol Unit and the Arab Patrol. He was also past president of the Billings Saddle Club and founder of the Black Otter Trail Patrol precision riding team. In addition, Mr. Cohen belonged to American Legion Post No. 28 of Glendive, the Elks Lodge, the Edna Hedges Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, the Montana Coin Machine Operators Association and the Music Operators of America. He is survived by his widow, Helen, of Billings; one son, Jack, of 1617 2nd St. W.; a daughter, Mrs. O.D. Edwards of Arlee, Mont.; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Settergren Memorial Chapel, Rabbi Samuel Horowitz of the Temple Beth Aaron officiating. Burial will be in Beth Aaron Cemetery.
