His death occurred at the Lutheran Hospital in Hoisington, KS, on July 29, 1972. His age was 82 years, 10 months, and 15 days. A lifelong resident of the Milberger-Russell area, he was baptized in infancy and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Milberger on May 21, 1905. (Mai) Dietz, was born Sept. 14, 1889, at the family farm home in south Russell Co., KS. His death occurred at the Lutheran Hospital in Hoisington, KS, on July 29, 1972. His age was 82 years, 10 months, and 15 days. A lifelong resident of the Milberger-Russell area, he was baptized in infancy and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Milberger on May 21, 1905. He remained a member of this church throughout his lifetime, serving as church organist for many years. He was also united in marriage there to the former Ida M. Deines on Jan. 19, 1915. There were 7 children born to this marriage, all of whom survive him. He engaged in farming in the area of his birth for many years and retired in 1954. Mr. Dietz centered his interests in his home, family, church, and community affairs until age and failing health made it necessary to leave the farm home north of Galatia and move to Hoisington where medical facilities were more readily available. However, his stay in Hoisington was of short duration and he passed away to the spirit land 2 weeks after being admitted to the hospital. To treasure and cherish his memory are his wife, Ida M. of the home in Hoisington; 4 daughters, Mrs. Rosa Nulik, Wichita; Mrs. Helen Landon, Wichita; Mrs. Esther Karst, Hoisington; and Mrs. Leona Kauffman, Abilene; 3 sons, Edwin of Wichita; Luther of Ellis; and Marcus, Wichita, KS; 2 brothers, Jacob, Ft. Collins, CO; and Adam, Russell, KS; and 1 sister, Mrs. Lena Karst, Galatia, KS. Also his grandchildren, Dale, Dennis and Douglas Nulik; Loren and Mark Dietz; Stanley and Gregory Karst; Michael Brack, Gaylene Zehr, Ladonna, Shari, and Melanie Dietz, Mona and Noreen Kauffman, Melinda Drake Kershaw; and 4 great grandchildren. His parents, 2 brothers, Henry and William and 2 sisters, Mary and Elizabeth, preceded him in death.
