Read More	Memorial services for Sig Jonasen, 90, Sidney, was held at Pella Lutheran Church. Sig Jonasen passed away March 11, 2003 in Sidney. He was born August 19, 1912 in Norway, son of Jonas and Sophie Goldener Aase. His father died when Sig was 8 years old. His mother was remarried to Nils Herigstad and Sig moved to the United States to join them in 1930 and became a naturalized citizen in 1939. Sig married Helen M. Bach on March 5, 1938, in Glendive and the couple made their home on the family farm near Savage. In 1966, they moved to Kalispell, where they owned and operated a motel, returning to Sidney in 1981 to retire. He was a member of Pella Lutheran Church. Sig's passions in life were his family, friends and fishing. He kept his family and friends amused with his fishing adventures. During the last year of his life, he enjoyed riding his three wheel bike around Sidney. Sig was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather, one brother and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Helen, two daughters, Janice(Robert)Henderson, Jean(Delton)Christman; one son, Richard(Darlene)Jonasen; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his three nephews, Thorr, Bjorn, and Donald Herigstad and numerous relatives on his wife's side of the family. Private disposition of ashes will follow at a later date. Bullis-Graves Memorial Chapel of Miles City is entrusted withy the arrangements. Internment was in the Savage Cemetery Savage Mt.
