Description	:	Silas was the son of Silas Dennis and Abigail McIntire. On Nov 4, 1818 in Montague, MA he married Lucretia Fuller. Her parents aren't known. Their known children were William, Diana W, Clara Betsey, Alanson T, Damon Silas, Henry, and Emore. In 1820 Montague, MA they were listed with one daughter, under 5, name unknown. She would have been an infant. Before 1830 they had settled in Stratford, NH and had Diana & Clara (under 5), William & an unknown daughter (5-9), and the unknown daughter born in MA (10-14). Their known children were William, Diana W, Clara Betsey, Alanson T, Damon Silas, Henry, and Emore. In 1820 Montague, MA they were listed with one daughter, under 5, name unknown. She would have been an infant. Before 1830 they had settled in Stratford, NH and had Diana & Clara (under 5), William & an unknown daughter (5-9), and the unknown daughter born in MA (10-14). In 1840 Stratford they were listed with Henry & unknown son (under 5), Alanson & Damon (5-9), Diana & Clara (10-14), William & unknown daughter (15-19), and possibly the unknown daughter who was born in MA (20-29). It is not known if these last two females were actually their daughters or servants/boarders. In 1850 children Diana, Alanson, Damon, Henry, and Emma were listed with them. Emma was listed as female, born abt 1841, but I believe this was an error by the census taker. Son Emore was born in 1841 and he was not listed with them in 1850. There is never a record of an Emma after this census. His wife, Lucretia, died on Jan 27, 1855 in Stratford. On Sep 11, 1856 in Stratford, NH he married Emily Masters, daughter of William Masters and Hannah Cummings. He was 65 and she was 35 years old. They had a daughter, Ada M, in Jan 1861. Silas died in Dec 1863 and it is believed his wife, Emily, died in 1866 in Stratford although no death record has shown up for her. We do know she died before 1870 because 9 year old daughter Ada was living with grandfather William Masters who was 88 years old, along with his son Benjamin Masters & family. Age: 72yrs Cause of Death: Pneumonia with Congestion of Lungs NOTE: Silas's headstone was broken off and missing in the mid-1980's when this cemetery was canvased by Nancy L. Dodge. He was buried right beside his wife Lucretia, with no other stones in the row close to them. His wife, Emily, could have been buried here beside him too, without a stone. Or it is possible that she and her parents, William & Harriet Masters, were buried in Haynes Cemetery out on Bog Road in Stratford. The Dennis, Curtis, and Masters families all lived out on Bog Road and there are several graves there without stones.
