Settled in Butler County, Nebr. in 1875 with his brother Peter. According to the 1880 census he was 52 years old, born Bohemia, and farmed in Franklin Township, Butler County, Nebr. with his wife and four children. The 1900 census states he was born September 1832 in Bohemia, emigrated to the United States in 1874, had been married 35 years, and farmed in Franklin Township with his wife and son Stanley. According to Cemetery Secretary (Find A Grave member # 50513012): "There is a note on the old lot map, they determined that Simon & Mary were in graves 2 & 3 after probing the graves in May 1976, they also concluded that there was an infant or child buried in grave #1, but no indication who or when." '''''''''''''' People's Banner (David City, Nebr.), March 18, 1920, p. 9, col. 4 BRUNO Simon Maly died at his home here Sunday morning and was buried Tuesday forenoon in the Catholic cemetery. Rev. Father Zalud having charge of the services. Mr. Maly was 87 years old at the time of his death, having been in poor health since suffering a stroke of apoplexy about two years ago. He leaves to mourn his loss, his aged wife, two sons, Joseph of Bruno, and Stanley of Garland and two daughter Mrs. James Clark and Mrs. Wm. Danilivicz, both of Omaha. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to them in their bereavement. Those in attendance at the funeral from a distance were Stanley Maly and son Stanley Jr. of Garland, Mrs. James Clark and Wm. Danilivicz and son Walter of Omaha, and Mrs. Kate Janak of Weston.
