He was born in Horry County, a son of the late Smiley Hampton Skipper Sr. and Foye Jenkins Skipper. Smith IV, Clint Smith and Clay Johnson, all of Galivants Ferry, Craig Johnson of Honea Path, Brent Skipper of Greenville, Brian Skipper and Brandon Skipper, both of Laurens; a great-grandson, Christopher Johnson of Honea Path; a step-granddaughter, Rachielle Oliva of New Castle; three step-great-grandsons, Anthony, Nicolas and Carmen Oliva, all of New Castle; a sister, Doris Allen of Florence; and a brother, Jack Skipper of Conway. He was predeceased by a grandson, Chris Johnson; four brothers, Emory, Buster, Jenkins and Dixon Skipper; and two sisters, Reba Brazier and Esther Lundy. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Pisgah United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tom Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
