Read More	Dennis Daniel "Butch " Klein Tuesday, August 26th, 1947 - Monday, May 9th, 2022 On May 9, 2022, Butch Klein arrived in Heaven to be with his wife, Connie, for her birthday. He passed away surrounded by the love of his family, and pastor at his bedside. Butch was born in Mott, ND on August 26, 1947 to Florence and Richard Klein. The family moved to Billings, MT in 1962, and Butch graduated from Billings West High School in 1965. He then went on to join the Navy from June 1965-August 1967. He was in active duty on the USS Bon Homme Richard off the coast of Vietnam. While serving he was rewarded with The National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and The Vietnam Service Medal. Butch spent all of his working years in lumber wholesale. Starting work with his father at Georgia Pacific, he did everything from driving truck, to forklift operator, to warehouse manager. After Georgia Pacific's Billings location closed he worked at Ziggy's for some time, and ended his career at LYS where he retired early due to health complications. Butch was married to Connie Rae Lenhardt on March 16th, 1974. Butch, along with his father, Richard Klein, and father-in-law, Don Lenhardt, built Butch and Connie's house in Laurel, where they raised their family, and resided for the remainder of their lives. In 1981, Butch, and Connie welcomed their daughter into their life, and anxiously waited another 4 years to be able to bring their daughter home in 1985. Butch proudly called her his "Blue Light Special Baby" because he was so excited to get her home that he got pulled over for speeding on the way back from Great Falls. Butch loved going fast, and never got over his baby blue 1970 Chevelle ss 454, which he enjoyed testing in the occasional street race, and was his pride and joy, until Connie made him sell the Chevelle along with the "Green Pickle", his ski-boat, when they were becoming parents, because they weren't "family friendly". He also loved riding motorcycles, especially taking trips on his Goldwing with his siblings, and friends. Bowling was one of Butch's favorite pastimes, and he taught both of his daughters how to bowl. He, and Connie participated in bowling leagues, and Butch continued bowling for as long as his health allowed. He was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3177 in Laurel since August of 2011, in which he proudly served in their Honor Guard. Butch had the biggest heart, was always ready to lend a helping hand, and would help anyone who needed it. Butch was very close to God and became a member of the First Congregational Church in Laurel where he was serving as a deacon, and truly valued his fellowship with the congregation there. Pastor Derrek Ross was a huge impact in Butch's life this past year, and Butch's faith bloomed through their chats, and Pastor Ross' encouragement. Butch also loved and will be missed so very much by his granddaughter; he treasured taking her to church every Sunday. Butch is survived by his daughters; Son-in-Law; and 2 granddaughters. He is also survived by his 3 cherished siblings and numerous nieces, and nephews whom he adored. Preceding Butch in death, awaiting to welcome him home were his beloved wife Connie, his father and mother, Richard and Florence Klein, his sister, Connie Kallis whom arrived in Heaven only two months before him, and siblings who have been waiting for him all of his life: sister, Sherilyn Klein, and brothers, Ronald Klein, and John Klein, as well as his father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Don and Betty Lenhardt. Butch will be deeply missed and we are so grateful that us girls got to call him "Dad". Memorial donations may be made to The First Congregational Church in Laurel, MT., VFW Post 3177 in Laurel, MT., or the Special K Ranch in Columbus, MT. Butch's funeral service will be held at The First Congregational Church in Laurel, MT. at 12:30pm, Tuesday May 17th; his interment will be at the Yellowstone National Veteran's Cemetery immediately following the service, with a fellowship reception back at the church with cookies, cakes, and other desserts provided by the Dorcas in honor of Butch's sweet tooth.
