Description	:	Snodie Shirley Haddock, 82, son of the late Snodie A. and Lela H. Haddock, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 am in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Pinewood Memorial Park. Snodie was a Pitt County native and a graduate of Chicod High School. He served in the United States Army, and retired from Union Carbide-Eveready Battery Co. Snodie was a Pitt County native and a graduate of Chicod High School. He served in the United States Army, and retired from Union Carbide-Eveready Battery Co. He was a member of Greenville First Free Will Baptist Church and was a loving husband, father and Papa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Hugh Robin Hudson, Jr.; brothers, Eugene, Ivory, Burney and TJ Haddock; and sisters, Mildred Haddock, Dollie Haddock and Faye Paramore. He is survived by his: wife, Jean Joyner Haddock; son, Paul Haddock, of Ayden; daughter, Donna Whitehurst and husband, Gerald, of Washington; granddaughters, Penny Elks and husband, Tracy, Janet Shirley and husband, Stephen, and Jill Holland and husband, Jared, and great-grandchildren, Harley, Hugh, Madaline, Macianne Elks and Haley Shirley; sister, Willard Kinsaul and husband HC, of Bell Arthur; and his extended family, LaVerne and Jack Brock, Donald and Lula Joyner, Jimmy and Pat Joyner, Marvin and Opal Joyner, Brown Joyner, Willis Joyner and Blanche Joyner. The family will receive friends Friday from 9:30 am until the funeral hour at Wilkerson Funeral Home. The family would like to express a very special thanks to Dr. Paul Walker, his nurse, Teresa Parent, and the staff at Leo Jenkins Cancer Center and the staff of Community Home and Hospice Care. We would also like to thank everyone that continuously prayed for Snodie and us through his battle of Lung Cancer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church, 2426 S. Charles Blvd., Greenville, NC 27858.
