Read More	The Richmond (IN) Enterprise, January 26, 1894 A LITTLE OUT OF THE ORDINARY Solomon Huddleston, one of the most respected citizens of Wayne county, is confined to his home at Mr. Auburn, between Dublin and Cambridge, with a very peculiar malady, which up to this time, has baffled the knowledge and skill of attending physicians. For over a year Mr. Huddleston has been preyed upon by some unaccountable disease which could not exactly be located but which has gradually weakened him until for some time he has been completely prostrated. About three weeks ago at the solicitation of one of his friends took a few doses of a medicine which had cured the person referred to, in a somewhat similar case, but which seemed to have the opposite effect in this instance. Shortly after taking the medicine Mr. Huddleston became very sick, and as an extraordinary feature of the case, as the intense sickness subsided, an indurating enlargement of the stomach seemed to take place and a very prominent tumor-like ball established itself on the surface. The case is of a nature to attract the attention of the medical world, as it is quite unusual and possibly unprecedented. The Cambridge City (IN) Tribune, Thursday, March 8, 1894 Solomon Huddleston was born in Union county, Indiana, October 5, 1826, and died at his home near Dublin, Indiana, March 2, 1894, aged 67 years, 4 months and 25 days. He was the youngest of a family of thirteen children, one of whom died in the forty-second year of his age, and all the rest have lived to be old. Three of the brothers and one sister are still living. Solomon removed with his parents from Union county and settled in Dublin in 1837, and in 1849 he built the brick residence between this place and Dublin, where he lived the remainder of his life. He and Christena Myer were united in marriage September 12, 1852, and lived in happy union forty-one years and nearly six months. They have been blessed with a family of one son and three daughters. the children are now all at home, though two of the daughters, one living in Alabama and the other in Kansas, were not here at the time of his death. Few men have been better known about their neighborhood than Solomon Huddleston,a nd few have lived a more even and useful life. He labored earnestly, not only for the suppression of vice, but for the building up of purity, honesty and industry. He made no religious profession except by his every day life, by helping those in need of help and by doing to others as he would have others do to him. He lived rather than professed the life of a christian. His last sickness was rather tedious and very painful, having cancer of the stomach, yet he bore it all with a patient fortitude seldom witnessed. His remains were laid to rest in the East cemetery at Dublin, on Monday, March 5, Rev. H. N. Brown, of the Universalist church at Dublin conducting the funeral service.
