Description	:	Sophia A. Kreitzer Eaton was born on a farm south of Sartoria to Joseph and Anna Glatter Kreitzer. She attended Peak School and worked in Kearney a few years before marrying Earl Eaton on April 11, 1925 in Smith Center, Kansas. They lived in the Sunflower District many years before moving to town. They were the parents of three children: Dwain, died while an infant of scarlet fever; Janet Carman; and Darold. Kreitzer Eaton was born on a farm south of Sartoria to Joseph and Anna Glatter Kreitzer. She attended Peak School and worked in Kearney a few years before marrying Earl Eaton on April 11, 1925 in Smith Center, Kansas. They lived in the Sunflower District many years before moving to town. They were the parents of three children: Dwain, died while an infant of scarlet fever; Janet Carman; and Darold. During the Depression the Earl Eaton and Walter Phillips families traveled to California and Washington looking for work. They came home after a month as there was no work for outsiders in those states. Sophia was an excellent cook and housekeeper plus she crocheted and tatted. She enjoyed the fellowship of her family and church friends. The Eatons were together for 68 years. She is survived by her husband, Earl; daughter, Janet Carman; son, Darold; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, grandson, four sisters and a brother.
